Recent CPSC Bicycle Recalls

February 22, 2011: Felt Bicycles recalled about 1,550 2011 Felt Adult bicycles because the bicycle’s fork can break, causing the rider to lose control, fall, and suffer injuries.
January 4, 2011: Salsa Cycles, a subsidiary of Quality Bicycle Products, recalled about 6,500 Salsa Handlebar Stems because the stems can crack or break, posing a fall hazard to the bicyclist.
December 9, 2010: Seattle Bike Supply recalled about 200 Redline D640 Bicycles because the head tube can separate from the frame, causing the rider to lose control and fall, posing a serious injury risk.
November 19, 2010: Full Speed Ahead recalled about 9,300 BB30 Gossamer crank sets installed on numerous makers of bicycles because the bolt shoulder can crack or break if the fixing bolt is over-tightened on the non-drive crank arm. If this happens, the non-drive arm can fall of the bicycle and cause the rider to crash or fall, posing a serious injury risk.
November 12, 2010: Newbury Park, CA based Giant Bicycle, Inc., recalled about 370 Model Year Anthem Giant Bicycles because the frame can crack at the junction of the seat post and top tube, posing a serious injury risk to riders.
October 28, 2010: Easton Sports recalled about 200 biycles with 2010 EC90 Zero seat posts because the carbon top clam of the seat can crack, which could cause the rider to fall.
October 14, 2010: The Hive (Perigeum Development Inc.) recalled about 500 Revi carbon bicycle brakes because the cable clamping area of the bicycle brakes can crack over time, causing brake failure, which could cause the rider to fall or crash.
